The Forest is a music performance dealing with the pretext of love.
It’s the story of a teenage girl that has been abused and since then she’s been constantly changing cities installing in her apartment a forest of real cypress trees.Τhis small forest hides and protect her from the outside world. The story takes place in four cycles of seasons.
The girl daily reads stories from the newspapers and through her almost vitriolic humour, she reveals the hypocrisy that of the society, family, friendships, and the social state. When her big secret is revealed, she disappears again, changing name and city.
The show is based on a mixed system of pre-recorded, live music and sound engineering. On stage there is a system of 2 or 4 speakers, and a transportable unit (table with wheels). On the top of it there is o a laptop, a chaos pad, a sound card, a midi keyboard and two microphones.
The performer plays piano, sings, speaks, changes the scenery in real time, changes the led lighting manually, does live sound processing with the help of a second performer. The concept of this performnace is based on an almost hand made environment, which is set up in real time in front of the spectators. The audience observes the performer changing multiple roles (actor, musician, sound engineer, lighting).
